Club remains closed for now.

Happy New Year to everyone, we hope you are all keeping well.

We are still currently still closed but hoping the Covid19 situation changes soon with the new vaccines being rolled out.

Please keep an eye open for more information in the near future about our possible return dates.

We are now in a good position with our governing body with all our risk assessments being checked and agreed so we will be ready to return when we get the go ahead.

Fingers crossed everyone.

Looking for new players

Fancy playing Roller Hockey, then please get in contact and come and see what we do.

Yes. we are currently looking for new players of all ages to come and join our sessions.

St. Neots Sharks Roller Hockey Club itself consists of members of all ages including some families and is a subsidiary of St. Neots Crazy Skaters.

We are proud to offer an environment where members seek to improve their skills and have fun as the club is not a member of any league.

We play using ice hockey sticks, goals, a hard orange ball and for the most part non-contact rules.

The session itself starts at 5.35 p.m. although we simply ask that you are ready by 5.30 p.m. to ensure a swift start.

There are three parts to our exciting Roller Hockey session as detailed below:

The first part of the session is the Development session which is made up of Rookies, Intermediates and invited players. This session is led by one of our main coaches and is around 25 minutes long. The initial 25 minutes consists of training with a quick warm-up. This takes place from 5.35 p.m. until 6.00 p.m. This is followed by a 10-minute Rookie game after which the Rookies then have 15 minutes further training designed to be fun and engaging for them. This takes place from 6.00 p.m. until 6.25 p.m. These aim to progress new entrants to the exhilarating sport to become Intermediates and Seniors. This is achieved by giving all players the skills they need in a fun and  progressive environment to enable them to be able to develop as individuals and in the sport. More information on this is available if needed. Please let the club know if you are interested in this part of the session so we can provide you with the relevant information.

The second part of the Roller Hockey session runs from 6.15 p.m. to 7.20 p.m. and consists of both Intermediates and Seniors. The Intermediates and Seniors do have a chance to participate in training led by our Club Captain amongst others, between 6.15 p.m. and 6.45 p.m. From 6.45 p.m. the session progresses into matches for the remainder of the session. This is a great opportunity for the Intermediates to gain confidence in playing in matches with the Seniors whilst developing their skills so they can progress into playing until 8.00 p.m.

The final part is from 7.20 p.m. until 8.00 p.m. and is mainly Seniors although the more advanced Intermediates may be invited to play until 8.00 p.m. This is by invitation only for the Intermediates as the games become very fast paced and it is imperative that the club ensures that all players are safe.

If you are interested then please get in touch.

“We were looking for a roller hockey club and after some internet searching we discovered St Neots Sharks and what a find it was!

From day one, we have been made to feel very welcomed into the club.

It is such a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and extremely good fun every week.  There is a range of ages and abilities and that all adds to the uniqueness of the club. My son has made some great friendships and loves the banter on a Saturday night.

We have been at the club for about a year now and I can see my son attending for many more years to come.”

“My son and daughter have been attending hockey sessions with the St Neots Sharks for the last 6 weeks or so of the 2016/17 season. During that time, it is fair to say that they have had a blast! The coaching set up is excellent, the coaches are attentive and the sessions are well pitched to suit the ability range of those just starting out in the sport. There is also plenty of encouragement from all the adults involved in the club. What impresses me most though is the attitude of Chris and his family, they are clearly very heavily invested in the club and care deeply about the progress and enjoyment of all the youngsters. It’s a great club and I would recommend it to any parent, who has a child interested in roller/ice hockey”.
